    The surgical technician has aseptically prepared the cat for surgery. The animal is placed on a BairHugger blanket, which provides continuous warmth to prevent hypothermia. The yellowish color on the cats skin is the solution used to sterilize the pets skin.

    A dental room, separate from the surgical suite, is used to perform routine dental procedures. Dental cleanings, including teeth scaling, polishing, and flouride treatment, as well as thorough examination of the oral cavity, are performed routinely. In addition, extractions and oral surgery are performed as needed. Pain medication is always available for those patients needing it, such as after extractions or gum surgery.
