Dr. Ann Dolin Dr. Ann Dolin, co-owner of Essex Animal Hospital, is a 1984 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA), Metropolitan New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (MNJVMA), and an affiliate member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Known by clients and staff as Dr. Ann, she is married to Dr. Charles Dolin, the practice co-owner. They share their home with three children, Zephyr the iguana, a retired racing greyhound named Rip, and a cute little Pug named Biscuit. In fact, several of our canine patients owe their lives to Rip, as she has donated blood on several occasions to help treat some of our critically ill dogs. In her spare time, Dr. Ann enjoys hiking, biking, and especially gardening. If you ask her, however, she'll tell you her favorite pastime is vacationing.
Dr. Charles Dolin Dr. Charles Dolin, co-owner of Essex Animal Hospital (EAH) is a 1984 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is also a member of the AVMA, NJVMA, MNJVMA, and AAHA. Along with his usual dog and cat patients, Dr. Dolin sees most of our exotic pets, as he has a special interest in birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, and other "pocket pets". For relaxation, Dr. Dolin also enjoys hiking, biking, and fishing with his family.
Dr. Richard Gustafson Dr. Richard Gustafson, staff veterinarian at Essex Animal Hospital, is a 1985 graduate of the Tuskegee Institute (Alabama) School of Veterinary Medicine. He, too, is a member of the AVMA, MNJVMA, and AAHA. Known affectionately by clients as Dr. G, he is married to another veterinarian, Dr. Phyllis King. They have one child, and share their home with several cats. It is known, however, that Dr. G is partial to Beagles (no surprise gifts, please!) In his spare time, Dr. G enjoys woodworking, building and collecting model planes and ships, and puttering around the house and garden.
